With the Daytona 500 in our rear view mirror, we get a few days to ourselves here before the bikes start to roll in next week.
It’s supposed to be pretty windy this weekend, so maybe some kite-flying or windsurfing should be on your list.
If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday check out “Ponce Preserves the Planet” from 10am-2pm at Ponce Preserve Park. The event is free and there are activities for the whole family, 20+ exhibitors, face painting, and more. Parking and Shuttle are available at Ponce Inlet Town Hall.

Ever been to the Ocean Center for an event and had a hard time finding a place to park? Yep, me too. That might change soon though as this week the Volusia County Council approved the $970,000 purchase of five parcels in Daytona Beach that would provide additional parking for the Ocean Center.
The feel good story of the week was definitely the release back into the wild of Adele, a 5-pound sea turtle that has been rehabbing at the Marine Science Center since January.
